Equality In Society
The people of today differ from the people of the past and will probably differ from the future. Since people evolve we tend to change or even adopt certain values from others. It maybe a positive trait or a negative one. The story entitled, No one stops to say “Thank You” anymore by L.A Wilson, showed that people of today seldom show appreciation of the simple things and the good deeds others are doing for them. It maybe a guard in a restaurant or in a hotel opening the door for you, a baggage carrier ( kargador ) in the port or even the dicer in a grocery store who packs your goods. Even if they are paid to do it, as their job, still we, costumers are obliged to say “Thank You” as a sign of appreciation and respect. I observed that the people today tend to show respect only to those who are well-dressed and people who belong to the elites or the high ranked people of the society.
